Boots: Let's give trends a go; No7 Fake Eyelashes

I was recently contacted by the lovely Sinead, who i met at my last bloggers meet up in London, (you can find the post about that here). Sinead works for Red Consultancy and she contacted me about a little initiative that was going on with "Boots", called "Lets give trends a go" or if you're in the twitter world and want to discuss then just simply hash tag #bootsgiveitago. Anyways me and Sinead emailed back and fourth and the more i heard and read about it, the more excited i got.

So "what is it?" i hear you ask, well its Boots idea of giving us girlies a little more confidence to try out the trend looks of this season, so weather you have never worn a red lippie or, if like me, you constantly have your hair in one same style, its time to jazz it up a little and GIVE IT A GO!

Sinead asked if i wanted to partake in this?, and how could i not, i got really excited at the idea of all the different looks i may be able to create and the thought of going out of my comfort zone into new colours and styles was something i hoped i would grow from. Sinead sent over a little package with some goodies in, for me to try and test some new looks out, when i opened the package i was excited at what i saw but also a little nervous (but we will come to that in a little bit!). I got straight on to checking out new, up and coming trends and seeing what i could do.
For today, I'm going to be showing you one new thing i tried, but i have a few more posts lined up with some more goodies i tried and tested to help me create new looks.

According to physiologist Dr Kate Hefferon, "There have been several studies into the physical and mental benefits of experiencing something new. The feel good factor should not be underestimated  Taking yourself out of your comfort zone, even with the smallest things like make up can really energise you and make you feel more flexible and adaptable about bigger things in life."

I couldn't agree more with her, for example, when we are having a bad day the majority of the time what we want to do in order to cheer ourselves up is some retail shopping, where we can just spend a little money and buy whatever makes our heart flutter so we feel good about ourselves again. Well its the same with your make up, adding a little bit of colour to your eyes on a night out, or having an all natural face with a statement bold lip can make us feel good about ourselves. Sometimes we just need that little extra push to try something a little new or different.

Over the weekend i tried FAKE EYELASHES!!
If you know me, and if you know me well, then you know..i do not do fake eyelashes. I cant seem to get to terms with them, i love the effect they give off and the way it makes girls eyes instantly pop out, but for me, they are too fiddly and too time consuming. Plus i would have the constant worry that they are going to flick off throughout the night. There is nothing worse, then being the girl in the corner trying to fix her lashes on a night out. TOO FIDDLY for me, BUT seeing as i was doing the "Lets give trends a go" and seeing as Sinead had sent me some goodies, i thought i might as well. So over the weekend, i applied these fake lashes to my eyes, I'm not going to lie and say they were easy, because lets face it i got glue EVERYWHERE and they didn't stick on properly, or at least they felt very loose, like the smallest bit of wind and they would fly off. It took me a while to get them to even look right let alone stay on, or take a decent picture. After what seemed like forever i had them on, they weighed down my eyes, and it was weird because i could actually see them right above, it felt like little creatures were fluttering right above my eyes! (kind of like butterflies) :/ FREAKY!
Now this experience in not to say the lashes weren't good, if anything, they were full and Volumized which is what i would go after if i was in the market to buy some, the lashes in themselves were okay to deal with. However me applying them is a totally different story, and it could be because i haven't had much practise with these things, as i said, i always try to venture away from them when possible. Maybe with a few more tires and lots of patience i will finally be able to get it right straight away.
HOWEVER, once the lashes were on, and i was able to take a photo of them, i LOVED the way they looked. I loved the way they looked so full, and so volumized in the photos, it made me want to have them on a lot longer. Right then and there i decided, I need to hire someone, and i will call them EYELASH FITTER, and all they have to do is apply my lashes to my eyes when i need them, and then walk by my side for the evening in case i come in to any lash drama so they can re-fix them again? Is this not the best idea, i have ever come up with? i mean, i couldn't believe it.. so for EYELASH FITTER Applications just leave me your name below with a comment explaining how you would solve an eyelash emergency on a night out! :D
I am so glad, i did try them out, as a virgin to the fake lashes, its not something i would say "NO" to in the future, i find it hard to personally apply them, but with the right person applying, it must take no time at all, and the look of them once on, made me fall in love. It did make me feel good about having them on, made me do a few too many selfies i will admit  and it was nice to try something TOTALLY out of my comfort zone, a new make up experience to add to the collection.

Have you tried Fake Eyelashes? What was your experience like? and how are you at applying them? maybe you could apply for the job i posted about!!

Thank you Sinead, Boots, and Red Consultancy.

Watch this space for a few more posts featuring things i have tried thanks to Boots, "Lets give trends a go".

*These fake eyelashes were sent to me to review, the opinions are 100% my own.*

Outfit of the day 14.04.13

(sorry if the photos lack focus. i hate photos with no focus, but alas, what can i do.. its all i got.)
Hello all,
The sun has decided to finally show its face, and that means two things, one..Lighter clothes can be worn (which by the way i have totally forgotten how to dress for sunshine weather) and two..Great lighting for photos which means, Outfits of the day can be done!

So Sunday, it was gorgeous weather here in the capital London, i wouldn't say scorching hot as maybe the Mediterranean but it was better then what England has seen in the last few months. So i plucked out my old maxi skirt, and since this whole monochrome trend is about, i found my simple stripy t-shirt and wore that tucked in, then to make the outfit have a little more edge i threw on my denim waistcoat shirt, added my cute pink bow to my head and finished off with some black ballet pumps. Not to forget one of my favourite pieces of jewellery at the moment, my dream catcher feather earrings, totally in love. It was such a simple outfit but i felt like it was perfect for the weather we were receiving and it was so comfortable to be in as well.

Pink Head Bow - Matalan £3
Denim Waistcoat Shirt - HnM £12 (old)
Black and White Stripy T-shirt - Primark £3/4
Black Maxi Skirt - Market stall £10
Black Ballet Pumps - Primark £4/5 (old)
Dream Catcher Feather Earrings - Primark £3/4
What have you been wearing lately, now the weather is slowly improving? and from the looks of these photos, if the weather continues and more flesh is to be on show now, i defiantly need to book myself in for a spray tan until i can build up enough natural tan! (I hate being pale..)

Spring/Summer: My Fashion Choices.

Hello all,
I'm a little excited at the fact winter is slowing leaving us and that means Spring is fast approaching, which means warmer weather and light evenings, which i am a super excited about. I have also been looking at my wardrobe and i can not wait to put away the jumpers, polo necks and winter coats, and get out the tiny T Shirts, the tank tops, the skirts and the shorts, i cant be the only one who is eagerly waiting for the spring months to pop up and show us some more sun, i know my feet are dying to see the outside world, goodbye winter boots and hello flat pumps and sandals.

I've been thinking about what kind of style i want to rock this spring and i think i may have come up with it, I'm calling it..

Aztec/Boho/Tribal/Navajo :) (bit of a mouth full aye?!)

Ive made some little outfit choices on Polyvore to give you guys some idea of what kind of things I'm going to be on the look out for to wear in the next few months..
