FRIENDS, who are you?

Hello all,

The other day i was watching one of my favourite TV shows FRIENDS and it made me think, "I wonder what FRIENDS star I'm most like?" The more i thought about it, the funnier it became to think about how alike i am to one of them, or even, if i have certain friends who fit their characteristics and their traits to match one of the actual FRIENDS stars. I wanted to write a little blog post on it mostly for me, but also, wouldn't it be funny if you could all figure out what FRIENDS star you are most like too..?

So lets start with Monica Geller-Bing.

She's stubborn, and bossy, shes a big neat freak and you literally can not touch anything of hers as she will know you've touched and moved things around, (remember the episode where poor Chandler tries to clean the apartment for her as a surprise, and he then spends the rest of the show looking through the photo albums to try and recreate the exact look again). She's a perfectionist and has a very unnatural organisation to her, i mean how many towel labels did she have again? She is also the most competitive, i mean, lets not forget the one where her hair was MASSIVE and she was trying to beat Mike at ping pong, it went on all night. Although underneath it all, she is just like the mother of the group, and her apartment tends to be where everyone ends up meeting up after a day of work etc.

Then we have her brother Ross Geller.

He's the nerd of the bunch, yet, he's such a nice guy, that he quickly becomes the hot nerdy one, he's the one you can depend on to be there in your hour of need. He's pretty funny, but his humour is slightly awkward like him, and so some may not get it. He tries to be cool and fit in with the rest but he will always be the one most comfortable in his jumpers with elbow patches, (Who remembers when he tried to be hip and cool with his fashion sense and ended up wearing the same top as his date, can you say awkward?). He's a hopeless romantic who has had his fair share of the ladies. (how many times has he been married now?) He can seem very arrogant due to the fact he has a PHD and this makes him seem a little snobbish at times. He can also be insecure and irritable easily as well as a tad jealous and over powering, but under all that, he is one of the most sweet natured and loving of the bunch.

Lets move on to Rachael Green.

Can be a little bit of a snob and a spoilt brat, she's a daddy's girl at heart, she can be a little bit of a pushover when it comes to her friends and what she wants to do in order to help them. She's a flirt and can get a lot of male attention, that she actually sometimes lusts after. She is also the fashionista of the bunch and the most up to date with whats hot and whats not. Shes not really into anything too deep such as political debates but shes up to scratch with what matches best with her Jimmy Choo shoes. She can at times seem self centred, but will try her best to make her friends happy and show them support. 

Moving on to Phoebe Buffay.

Phoebe is the most kooky one of the bunch, she can come out with really random things and thoughts that she has. She has strong beliefs but all of them are according to her view point. She is very spiritual and eccentric at times. She is probably the most creative of the bunch as well as the most musical of them. She had a tough upbringing compared to some of the FRIENDS characters so she is very street smart and can defend herself in fights and arguments. She can at times be really innocent and childlike to the way the world is, you could even say, a little naive. She often has moments of the stereotyped "Dumb blonde" where she says things that just makes everyone stop and stare at her. Although being the most out there in terms of characteristics, Phoebe is actually really funny, sometimes just the way in which she says something can be found humorous, or the tone in which her reply comes out, (these usually are aimed at Ross or Chandler however). Through it all, Phoebe just wants to be loved.

Now we have Joey Tribbiani.

Joey is defiantly the most simple minded of the bunch, but he is very protective of all his Friends and is always there no matter what they need. He can be quite funny at times, but what makes his humour better, is that he doesn't realise he is actually being funny, and alot of the time he is funny by his dumb witted comments. He struggles to find permanent work, always looking for more and has a hard time sharing things, most notably food. He is a massive lover of food and will not share with anyone. (Remember how he wouldn't even let Emma, who is a toddler have some grapes off his plate?!) He is also the most promiscuous of the bunch, and loves the female attention he receives. He never fully settles down and is constantly moving on from relationship to relationship. Joey is the original happy go lucky kinda guy!

Lastly, we have Chandler Bing.

To me Chandler is the funniest of the bunch, because his sarcasm hits things on point most of the time, and his wisecracks are humorous, witty and literally make you Laugh Out Loud. He is very loving and protective of his friends and his partners (especially when he and Monica finally get together). He is also the most scared for commitment out of everyone, he is very scared to take that next step when in a relationship, and also very scared to even take the first step such as approaching women to meet them. He can be shy at times and a little awkward in front of people, he is the one that is most desperate for love as well as being the one that taught us the most life lessons, (in my opinion, anyway!).

So there you have it, a little bit about each character and their traits and personality, now, if you were to be just one of them, who are you most like? or who would your friends say you were most like? It's scary to say that i think.. and my friends will probably agree with me on the fact I'm most like Monica. Regardless of how much i love fashion, or how kooky, or dumb i can act, they would say my neatness and overall competitiveness makes me more of a Monica then any other FRIENDS character!

BEDM - Day 8 - My First Job

Can you believe today is May the 8th already, and I've stuck to my BEDM so far, I'm so super proud of myself. I used to blog twice, maybe 3 times in a week and for the last full week i have blogged everyday! This challenge has really motivated me! :)

So today's topic is "My First Job".

My first job apart from all the little bits of training i did else where, was at a private nursery. The first year was full of joy, i was 19 turning 20 and was making over 1 grand a month, so you can imagine how elated i was. I enjoyed working with the kiddies too.

However over time i grew to dislike the job, don't get me wrong, i grew super attached to some of these kids and I'm still friends with some of them even to today (by some of them, i mean the parents), its great to see these kids grow up and go off to big school, but what i grew to dislike was the environment i was working in and i grew to dislike certain co workers!

I mean, not to twist my words, i did meet 2 of my best friends there, Sacha and Sasha! LOL i found a mummy figure in Joan, Shirley and Monica and i love those ladies to death, they made my leaving the place so hard, and we all shed lots of tears on my last day, this also included some of the parents. i got way too many gifts and i got flowers from parents, cards and all sorts. Not only was the staff sad to see me going but also the parents and the children who had grown with me there for 4 years. It was tough to make the decision to leave and to then actually go through with it, but it was the best decision i have ever made!

Every job is tough, but this was more such then i could think, its a stressful job looking after other peoples children in general, you want to make sure they are always happy, safe and healthy but at the same time it becomes quite hard when you have a boss telling you to do things differently, and then a few weeks later when you have started doing them in that way she walks in and says, "Urm, why is this like this?" and when you remind her that she told you to do it that way in the first place, she seems to have completely forgotten, therefore you get into trouble!

Also unfairness happened alot where i worked. The boss had her children working there, and they had a much easier ride then everyone else, including when they cocked things up and we were left to tidy up after them.

I stayed at my first job for 4 years, i needed the money and it was a great experience, i also completed my level 3 in childcare while there. One day, a co-worker was really mean, i stayed late to help another member of the team as there was far too many children and not enough staff, i wasn't expecting a "thanks Ana" or anything, i was just helping out a co-worker as i knew how stressful it could be to have that many children and not enough adults, theres only so many eyes that one person has! Well, what i got instead, was a whole backlash of crap, about asking first to stay instead of just assuming its okay, etc, she did all this in front of parents, so i defended myself, i said i didn't want to be paid for the overtime, i just simply stayed to help out a co-worker, she wouldn't have it and it turned into this debate. The worst part wasn't the parents, the parents were okay with it, i mean, they knew me, i had looked after their kids and the siblings, what made it worse was, i then went home and cried for the full night, because of the fear of having to face my boss in the morning. I was terrified, even though i had done nothing wrong. If ofstead had arrived and i had not been there, it would have been a very different story for that little old nursery, but of course my boss didn't see it like that. Either way she had us make up and be friends again, and then things went back to normal, but i never forgot it. Never forgot how one woman had made me feel and how terrified i was of dealing with another one for having done the right thing. So i decided in May last year, that i would find myself a new job and leave them behind to rot in that place.. so i went for a few interviews and got a job in a primary school where i currently am.

I would not change my currant job for anything, i LOVE it to pieces, the best bit is, there are policies and procedures and we all stick to them so theres never any wrong doing, and if i decide to stay late and help out a fellow co-worker, i get a "thanks" or a "go home Ana, you have finished for the day" :)

A much NEEDED update.. with links to click :)

Hello all, i thought it was high time i updated everyone a little..i kinda stopped doing my "Musings" post..this post to me, died down a little after a while and i just couldn't be bothered to keep writing it. I have 2 posts i try to do often my "Sunday Social" and my "It's okay.."but again its about fitting it in, when theres time. In the last 2 weeks, alot of changes have happened in my life, I got a new job in a primary school, i had lots of training and inset days and i had to adjust to the new kids and routines..therefore my blog, took a little back seat, but now that things have settled down a little, I'm ready to get on with my posts again. I have a few lined up, but I'm hoping to get more inspiration for some upcoming future ones. What would you guys like to see me attempt to post about..?

Now i need help?.. i want to change my header, (as i always do,) i want a simple header with "We all think differently.." written on it, and when i say simple, i really do mean simple. I kinda need some inspiration for that, but if you guys have any ideas or suggestions for how i can get this to look the way i want, i would appreciate all the comments below. I also want to change my buttons around and STILL need to figure out how to do a blog button..(something tells me, this will take longer then a couple of hours). I'm thinking something along the lines of this..

I have recently also made a Youtube account, which for me has been fun to film as well as nerve wrecking, as i do get very nervous in front of a camera, as I'm putting myself "Out there" so to speak. At the moment i have 3-4 videos up on there,  im hoping to fit a few more in the next couple of days, but bare with me as editing the videos is a nightmare at the moment for me, (as its all new) and as i prefer to use my boyfriends Mac to edit them, i kinda have Saturday and Sunday to do that mostly, otherwise its good old "Windows Movie Maker".  Also the cameras im using for filming at the moment..well im kinda flipping through 2, trying to decide which one gives off the best image capture and sound, so again, trying to find the best!

Another new thing, i now have is Pinterest, at first i didn't quite understand what i was doing, it reminded me of Tumblr mixed in with We Heart it, and so i was confused as to what liking and pinning meant! I would like to say i understand it a bit better, but truth be told i think im just enjoying pinning things to my different boards! :) Hahaa, although if you have one, i would love you to come and follow me there! :D

Sorry this post is a little scattered all over the place, its just, I've been so busy lately and life has been so hectic with so many changes that i felt i owed everyone a proper little update!

You think you know me..

Hello.. I'm back from my holiday, and have some exciting posts coming up, i need to schedule a few too, which to me ALWAYS takes forever. I do have a confession though, i left my laptop charger in the hotel in Newcastle and now i feel like I've lost a limb or something. I'm hoping they send it back to me, but I'm unsure of when i will receive it, so blogging should be fun for the next few days or weeks, with bank holiday Monday coming up here in the UK and the Post Office not running properly. Anyway, I've been thinking about doing a slight tag for a while, and i finally decided to do one..on "About me.." so that you can get to know me a little better..

Tattoos: I have 2 at the moment, one on my foot that says "Made in Portugal" and one on my wrist of a little bow holding on to 3 little hearts, they represent me and my sisters, and how we all held on together after my mama up and left us. I would like one more tattoo tho, i have sorta chosen the spot but unsure of how i want it to turn out at the moment!

Piercings: I have both my ears done once, although i want to get my second hole on both of them done too, i have my belly button done..and I'm thinking to get my Targus pierced up too :)

What are you wearing: this is so embarrassing, right now?! I'm wearing a pink Newcastle Untied football t-shirt that i brought back in February from the Newcastle Football shop, i got my under ware on of course, and I'm wearing cropped grey joggers that i brought about a year ago from Sports Direct. I guess you could say its workout clothes, i call it relaxing bank holiday Monday clothes. As for make up, i just had a bath so I'm bare faced! :)

What do you think your really good at: I'd like to think I'm good at writing.I enjoy it so much and wish i had taken it up professionally..still not too late, but the longer you leave something the harder it is to come back to it.

What do you think your really bad at: Understanding the rules and the controls on the PlayStation 3, i know it may not seem like much but its one of those things that annoy me so much! Gah.

Blow drying my hair straight with the hairdryer, yeah i haven't mastered that yet, and don't think i will, either its too tricky or I'm too lazy! Another Gah.

Drawing, this is a bane in my life, as i wish i could at least draw stick people right, but even those come out looking a little worse for wear, its not too much to ask to be able to draw a family of cartoon people is it!? Gah number 3.

Growing my nails, this seems to be like an impossible task that god has set upon me, to try and see if I'm the kind of girl who gives up or carries on going and fighting, I'm starting to think I'm gonna give up. Gah X4
